A balm that doesn't feel like one.

Most tallow balms are dense. Stiff. Hard to scoop, harder to spread. I didn't want that.

So I whipped this one — air-light, cloud-soft, the kind of texture that melts the second it touches warm skin. Underneath the softness is the same grass-fed tallow your grandmother would have recognized: rich in vitamins A, D, E and K, and built to do real work on dry skin.

Bright lemon to open. Soft lavender to settle. Made in my Idaho kitchen, jarred by hand, sold one small batch at a time.

Hand scooping whipped tallow balm
Macro of whipped tallow balm texture

Cloud-light going on. Deeply, quietly hydrating long after.

What's Inside

Eight things. Nothing else.

We don't pad recipes with fillers. Every ingredient here earns its place — and there's nothing on the label you couldn't pronounce.

🌾

Grass-fed beef tallow

From grass-fed, grass-finished cattle. Rich in vitamins A, D, E and K, and structurally similar to your skin's own sebum — which is why it absorbs so well.

💧

Cold-pressed jojoba oil

The closest plant match to skin's natural oils. Sinks in without sitting on top, balancing the richness of tallow with a lighter, breathable finish.

🌿

Cold-pressed olive oil

Adds the slip and the long, slow melt. Helps the balm spread easily across the skin without dragging or feeling greasy on the way in.

🌼

Infused dandelion

A wild herb infused slowly into the oils. Quietly anti-inflammatory and known to calm angry skin — the old-fashioned remedy your grandmother would have recognized.

🌻

Infused calendula

Steeped from whole calendula flowers. Soothes irritation, supports healing, and gives the balm its soft golden tone underneath the whip.

🌱

Infused marshmallow root

Nature's hyaluronic acid. Pulls in and holds moisture, which is what makes this balm keep working long after it's gone on.

🍋

Lemon essential oil

Cold-pressed peel oil. The bright top note that opens the scent — clean, crisp, alive.

💜

Lavender essential oil

Steam-distilled lavender flower. The soft base note — calming, balanced, the part that lingers on the skin.

Full Ingredients

Grass-Fed Beef Tallow, Cold-Pressed Jojoba Oil, Cold-Pressed Olive Oil, Dandelion (Taraxacum Officinale), Calendula (Calendula Officinalis), Marshmallow Root (Althaea Officinalis), Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus Limon), Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula Angustifolia).

The Ritual

Three steps. Two minutes.

01

Warm a small scoop

About the size of a dime. Press it between your palms — the warmth of your hands turns the whip into oil.

02

Massage onto damp skin

Best right after the shower while skin still holds water. Focus on dry spots — elbows, knees, shins, anywhere thirsty.

03

Breathe it in

Don't rush the part where you stand there for a second. That's the point. Lemon, then lavender — let it settle.

It actually feels like a treat.

I've tried every tallow balm out there. Most feel like wax. This one melts in seconds and the lemon-lavender combo is unreal at night. I'm hooked.

My winter shins finally calmed down.

I have crackly dry shins every winter and lotion never cuts it. Two weeks of this balm and they're soft again. The whipped texture is a game changer.

Smells like a clean bathtub in the best way.

The scent is so clean. Bright but cozy. Not heavy. I keep mine on the nightstand and use it before bed every single night.

Good Questions

Things people ask.

Will tallow clog my pores?
Tallow is structurally very similar to the sebum your skin already produces, which is why it absorbs well rather than sitting on top. This balm is formulated for the body, not the face — for most people it's gentle and non-comedogenic when used as directed, but skin is personal. Patch-test first if you're acne-prone.
How long does a 2 oz jar last?
Used as a full-body moisturizer once a day, most customers get 6–8 weeks out of a jar. Used as a targeted balm on dry spots (elbows, shins, hands), it lasts much longer — three months or more.
What does it actually smell like?
The lemon hits first — bright, clean, real cold-pressed peel oil, not synthetic. The lavender lingers underneath, soft and gentle. Together they read as fresh and calm rather than perfumey. No fragrance oils, ever.
Is the tallow really grass-fed?
Yes — sourced from a small family ranch in the Mountain West, grass-fed and grass-finished. We won't use anything else. Tallow quality starts with how the cattle are raised, and we're not willing to compromise on that.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
The ingredients are simple and food-grade, but lavender and lemon essential oils can be a personal choice during pregnancy. We recommend checking with your provider before using any essential-oil product during pregnancy or while nursing.
How should I store it?
At room temperature, out of direct sunlight — a bathroom shelf or nightstand is perfect. If your space gets very warm, the whip can soften; pop it in a cool spot for an hour and it'll firm right back up. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of make.
What's your return policy?
If you don't love it, email us within 30 days and we'll make it right. We make every jar by hand, and your trust matters more to us than any single sale.

Shop by mood

Find your spring scent.

Six bars is a lot to choose from. Here's a quick way to narrow it down — pick the mood that sounds like your spring.

Sweet & fruity

Soft sweetness, ripe fruit, a little sunshine. Easy to love.

Fresh & clean

Sea air, ozone, that just-stepped-out-of-the-shower feeling.

Soft & floral

Delicate florals warmed by sweetness. Refined, never heavy.

Bright & tropical

Open windows, light air, somewhere warmer than here.

Read the back of the bar

A short list of things we trust.

Most "soap" on a drugstore shelf isn't soap at all — it's a synthetic detergent bar with a fragrance label. Here's the difference, side by side.

What's in every Tyme bar

A list you can pronounce.

Whole, recognizable ingredients. Nothing chosen to cut cost.

  • Real goat's milkNaturally rich in fatty acids and vitamin A — gentle enough for sensitive skin.
  • Saponified plant oilsCoconut, olive, palm, sunflower, castor, and jojoba — turned into actual soap, the slow way.
  • Shea butterFor the conditioning layer that keeps skin soft after you rinse.
  • Tussah silkA signature touch that gives the lather its glide and softness.
  • Natural glycerinProduced during cold-process and left right where it belongs — in the bar, on your skin.
What you won't find here

What store-bought soap hides.

Mass-produced bars and body washes are full of these. Read a label and count.

  • Sulfates (SLS / SLES)Aggressive foaming detergents that strip the skin's natural oils.
  • ParabensSynthetic preservatives flagged by dermatologists for skin sensitivity.
  • PhthalatesUsed to make synthetic fragrance "stick." Common, and quietly unwelcome.
  • Synthetic detergentsMost "soap bars" are actually syndets — cheaper to make, harsher on skin.
  • Artificial dyesPetroleum-derived colorants that add nothing but a brighter wrapper.

"My whole shower routine smells like spring."

I bought the bundle on a whim and now I rotate through them depending on my mood. Blushed Berry on weekends, Coastal Mist for early mornings. The lather is unreal.

"I'm never going back to body wash."

Tried Coconut Veil first because I'm picky about coconut scents — usually too sweet for me. This one is so subtle and clean. Skin feels softer than it has in years. Already ordered two more.

"Finally, a fruity soap that isn't sickly sweet."

Golden Tropic actually smells like real fruit, not the candle-store version. Lasts forever too — I'm 5 weeks in and still have plenty of bar left. Worth every penny.
