How to grade any bar in 30 seconds
1. Find the word "soap" on the package. Missing? It's detergent — legally it can't say soap.
2. Look for glycerin in the ingredients. In handmade soap it's there because it never left. In factory bars it's often added back in small amounts — or absent.
3. Ask what the liquid in the recipe was. Water is cheap. Milk brings natural fats — and you can feel the difference in the first lather.
